Reliability and validity of the Chinese version of the Athens insomnia scale for non-clinical application in Chinese athletes

Purpose This study aimed to revise and examine the reliability validity of Chinese version Athens Insomnia Scale for Non-clinical Application (AIS-NCA) among athletes. Additionally, tested scale in non-athlete individuals with similar sleep management practices further analyze its cultural specificity athletes make preliminary inferences about applicability other populations. Methods Four hundred twenty-six professional 779 high school students participated this research. Both were divided into two parallel groups exploratory confirmatory factor analyses. three athlete samples one student sample established assessments. Among athletes, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Epworth Sleepiness Scale, Athlete Screening Questionnaire, Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being employed evaluate convergent discriminant validity. Re-test was evaluated at intervals 1 2 weeks. In case students, using Index General Self-Efficacy re-test assessed two-week intervals.
